Classical Guitar Strings
Augustine strings were the first nylon strings ever made. They were developed by Albert Augustine in New York City in the late 1930's and early 1940's. At that time in New York living in the same apartment building was Andres Segovia. Also reciding in New York at this time were Miguel Llobet and Vicente Gomez. This was a magical time in New York. Andres Segovia, being a close friend of Albert Augustine and his wife Rose helped develop this new breed of strings which revolutionized the guitar world and still presently are used by many of the finest guitarists of the world.
